Screenwriters in the Making

Despite the disappointing release of the unword of the year there are still things out there are still things out there that warms my heart. Thinking back I did not have too many avenues where I could flourish as a writer. Thankfully I had the sense to continue on with my passion. Some kids don’t.

The Writers Guild Foundation has a program for high school students. Their purpose is to give interested students academic enrichment and writing skills through the process of screenwriting. It started in 2001. High school students will participate in a 2 week workshop and create 3 scene screenplays (7-15 pgs).

It’s disappointing that the first things that are cut from school funding are the artistic programs (music, sports, etc), it’s great that programs like this still exist. Just wish there were more.

Peace and luv!
