Anyone in the Atlanta area may wanna listen up. Friday and Saturday May 10th and 11th the annual Atlanta Writers Conference will go down at the Westin Atlanta Airport. Since the start of this conference they have been able to bring in experienced agents as well as writers to help with aspiring novelists; so far no literary agent has been repeated, they like to keep it fresh and funky each year.
The literary agents will critique your manuscript samples, synopsis and/or your pitch and who knows you may walk out with a book deal. All I can say is have your game sewn tight so you won’t look like a fool. Don’t say I didn’t warn you.
Ok so here’s a taste of what is to come at the conference. On Friday Claire Cook will give 2 75 minute representations. Saturday author, marketing guru, CEO and creator of Where Writers Win Shari Stauch and author and creative writing teacher Terra Elan McVoy will do 2 75 minute presentations.
The conference will end with an award ceremony. Writers with the best manuscript sample, synopsis and query letter will receive certificates.
You must be a 2013 Atlanta Writers Club Member to attend.
Lets get down to business – cost. The Manuscript/Synopsis Critique on Saturday is $50. Agent Q&A Panel on Saturday is $30. The Friday Workshop is $50.
