More television shows depicting blacks in a positive light is needed. I don’t think we had a show that fulfilled that need since The Cosby show. I miss that show by the way.
How about creating another one or be a part of one? GMC is running a Faith & Family Screenplay competition. The top 3 finalists will get an all expense trip to the 17th annual ABFF that is going down June 19-23rd. Finalists will also have their work played out by real actors in front of everyone at the festival! One grand prize winner will get all of the above AND $5000 in cash.
What’s the guidelines, requirements all that good stuff? Your original uplifting screenplay must be formatted for a 2 hour television movie. It must be geared toward black families and their experiences; any genre is acceptable.
