How to enter:
Fill out and submit the registration form on http://balboapress.com then submit original 30,000 word manuscript

When:
The deadline is 11:59p on May 1st. Winners will be announced on June 3rd and it is free to enter

Prize:
Grand Prize winner gets a publishing contract with Hay House Insights and a $5,000 advance.

One first place winner gets a Discover Publishing Package from Balboa Press with video press release and Hay House Radio interview

One Second Place winner gets free Connect Publishing Package from Balboa

Literary Upstart Contest

Submission guidelines:

Email submissions as an attached Word document in 12 pt font size to literaryupstart@thelmagazine.com with Literary Upstart in subject line

Include your name, title of story and email address on first page

Must be unpublished. Maximum of 1300 words

Winner gets $500 and publication in Annual Summer Fiction Issue

Top writers will be invited to one of three semi final round readings on April 17th, May 1st or May 22nd. Grand finale is June 4th

The Kiss Writing Contest

Writers get your pencils ready. You need a story 500 words or less on a forbidden relationship. This is for YA readers, no freaky, deaky stuff!

Winner will get story posted onto Patterson’s YA site. Also they will win $500 along with a 16GB iPad Mini uploaded already with James Patterson ebooks. Nice, huh?

The Great Tumblr Book Search

Guidelines:

Tag a post ‘Tumblr Book Search’ and include:
– title of humor themed book
– written synopsis of your idea (200 words or less)
– examples of book’s concept
– email your basic info & link to your post

Grand Prize:
– book considered for publication
– $500 of Chronicle books
– your Tumblr featured on Tumblr Tuesday

The Digital Storymakers Awards

High school, college and graduate students are eligible to participate in the digital storymakers contest. Students can present their best nonfiction work in order to win the grand prize which is $5000 and have their work published in the Digital Storymakers App. Nine grand prize winners will be chosen.

Another incentive is once you register you get free access to use a software called Atavist which guides you to create the best work rather through text, audio, video or animation. Get your package together because the start date to send in submissions is Jan. 1st and the deadline is April 15th.
