No Book Reviews For Amazon Writers

It is always that one that screws it up for everyone.

Recently Amazon has been deleting book reviews off of author’s page. Some disgruntled, jealous and bitter wanna be writers (as well as their stans) have written some bad reviews on author’s sites in the hopes of decreasing their sales. Really? How lame are you seriously? If you spent the time writing novels as much as you do coming up with these vindictive reviews you probably would have a bomb as novel to sell….just sayin. Key word being probably.

To put a hold onto the problem Amazon has got a new program that pings them when a review is sounding strange. I unfortunately don’t know the magic words but I have read a few people complain about their reviews being deleted. It’s sad that a small group is making this happen but it is what it is Amazon has a business and reputation to keep up.

Have you noticed reviews being deleted? Do you think Amazon is right for deleting revuews they feel fake?

Peace and luv!

Indie Authors and Book Reviews

Once again Bookbaby has come thru with another great list for indie writers; this one is places to go for legit book reviews.

1. Goodreads
2. Digital Book Today
3. Self Publishing Review
4. Indiereader.com
5. Indie B.R.A.G.

You always need to be careful with writing communities, blogs and such that offer book reviews.

Should there be more on the list? What have your experiences been like for book reviews? Did you find them helpful and why?

The Book Look

I’ve learned a few things this week, 1) call me stupid but I did not know there was a such thing as Miss Black America and 2) a new piece of history has been created and it’s called The Book Look.

A very popular news and entertainment site called NewsOne has created a new forum specifically for book lovers. The Book Look is all about book reviews but with a twist. Books will be rated and talked about by experts (and not boring experts either). Did I mention fellas that this viral show will be hosted by Miss Black Baltimore 2011 Alexandra Morton? Yeah that’s what I said, you did see right. If that doesn’t get you motivated to watch I don’t know what will.

Check out their webisodes on NewsOne and their website thebooklook.com and if you’re in the area check out these events they will be hosting:

-Baltimore Book Festival: Sept. 23-25

-National Book Festival: Sept. 24-25

Peace and luv!
